Your rhythm partner while practicing

If you want a solid sense of time, you can’t do it without a metronome. Set the tempo that suits you and practice chords, scales, technical passages and full songs in a steady pulse.

Start slowly, focus on clean playing and gradually increase the tempo. Just a few minutes of focused practice a day can make a big difference very quickly.

Quick start – how to use our Online Metronome
Time Signature

Use the “Time Signature” dropdown to choose how many beats are in a bar (e.g. 4/4, 3/4 up to 24/4).

Sound Bank

The “Sound Bank” menu lets you choose different sets of sounds (Drums, Wood, Cajon, Percussion). When you change the bank, your individual beat settings stay the same – only the actual sounds change.

Start / Stop

The large round button starts and stops the metronome.
The ▶ icon means “Start”, the ■ icon means “Stop”.

Visual flashing

Tick “Visual flashing” if you want to see blinking dots that move in time with the metronome clicks.

Selecting hits for each beat

Under “Choose hits for each beat” you’ll find dropdown fields – one for every beat in the bar. Choose whether you want “Kick”, “Hi-hat”, “Snare” or “Silent” so you can build your own rhythm pattern.

Tempo and TAP

Use the “Tempo” slider to set the BPM (1–700). If you want to match a tempo you have in your head, simply tap the TAP button in rhythm – the metronome will calculate the current BPM from your tapping.

Presets

In the “Presets” menu you’ll find pre-made rhythms (e.g. “Rock 01 – Billie Jean” or “Shuffle 03 – Rosanna”). Choosing a preset will automatically set the time signature, BPM, sound bank and the hits for each beat.

Automatic acceleration

If you tick “Automatic acceleration”, the metronome will add +1 BPM after each bar.

Use the switch in the top right corner to toggle between light and dark theme.
